Production

The production of the “Modern Vienna Bronzes” is still following the same procedure as in the past. Initially, around the middle of the last century, sand casting was used, an extremely difficult method, but still employed today e.g. in bell-founding.

In the Sixties, this procedure was replaced by centrifugal casting, which was more efficient and also provided better quality castings. Nowadays BOSSE models are cast in vacuum. The same pinciple is applied by the goldsmith in the manufacture of jewelry made of precious metals.
